“ This is our favorite for a sunset if you get the outside seating. Understand it's probably to warm for some people since you have the sun on you as it's going down but being from Texas we had no problem. The meat and cheese plate is awesome and the Greek dip is to die for. Wine selection is great and the bottled beer is served with a frozen glass. The lake view is amazing and the sunset is relaxing. You cannot go wrong by hanging out here. ”

We got there a little late and missed the sunset but we did enjoy the wine tasting and the 4 meats charcuterie board from a cozy loveseat. We were disappointed by the inattentiveness of our server. She took our order, delivered it and then we only saw her again from her reflection in the glass as she sped past our table several times . Other than the poor service it was a nice experience overall. ”

While the lower deck is tempting, I recommend the outdoor patio on the main level for the best experience — it offers unbeatable vistas with a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. The layout is spacious and thoughtfully designed with indoor, outdoor, and two-level seating, making it perfect for romantic evenings, celebrations, or group gatherings. As a note for outdoor diners, especially post-sunset, it’s wise to be prepared for a few insects — nothing that spoils the moment, but worth being mindful of. Service was another highlight. Kelly and Angelina were gracious and attentive, and Keenan, the host, truly stood out with his welcoming energy and professionalism — he adds a personal touch that makes guests feel right at home. The food is satisfying and well-presented. While the fondue could benefit from a thicker, more traditional consistency, it’s still a comforting shareable. I’d love to see the addition of a curated cold cuts and cheese platter — something that pairs beautifully with their wine selection and the lakeside ambience. Idle Hour Tahoe combines setting, service, and spirit in a way that makes it a must-visit.
